My Christening

Sunday, March 20th, 2005

Today I was Christened at St. Nicholas Church, Witham. It was a very nice day and lots of people came to the service. My godparents are my Uncle Peter, Julie Hickman and Zoey Harrison.

I was very well behaved - even when the vicar wet my head (although I did look a bit confused - I thought I should be in the bathroom!).

Afterwards we went to The Crown pub and had a bit of a party. I got lots of great presents. Overall I really enjoyed the whole experience but it made me very tired.

Here is a picture of me, Mummy, Daddy and my godparents:

My First Morning

Tuesday, December 14th, 2004

I woke up today after quite a good night’s sleep in the hospital. Mummy was there next to me and it wasn’t long before my Daddy turned up too. I was much better behaved than some of the other babies in the room who were screaming all night.

I was just getting used to feeling the air on my skin when a lady that I hadn’t seen before came over and stuck me in a tub filled with water! I wish they would make up their minds - am I supposed to be in fluid or in the open air? Well, I wasn’t going to stand for it, so I decided to poop on the nurses hand - that’ll teach her!

After I was clean, I was wrapped up again and went back to Mummy for a cuddle. Soon afterwards we went up the corridor into a little room where more strangers looked at me while I was laid down on a blanket. It was very soft and comfortable though - I settled myself down. All of a sudden somebody flashed a bit bright light at me!

Then I was picked up again and taken back to bed. A lady came along and stuck things in my ears to see if my hearing was okay. It was - I could have told her that!

Upstairs

I’ve now been moved upstairs into a big room with lots of other babies. My Grandad Mick, Christine and Uncle Keith have been to visit me and I got given my first Teddy Bear. Everybody keeps saying that I am really cute.

Hello World!

Monday, December 13th, 2004

Woooah! What the heck just happened? There I was, relaxing in Mummy’s womb and then all of a sudden I start to get pushed out! It took ages and eventually at 16:11 I was out.

Blimey it is bright out here. I’m a bit confused, but I recognise Mummy and Daddy by voice so at least something is familiar out here. Since I got out I have been weighed, cuddled, fed, and met my Grandparents, Uncle and Aunty on Mummy’s side.

It’s all a bit scary, but at least now I finally get to use these lungs that I spent so long growing and I like being able to move my limbs about more easily! I’m going to have a nap and hopefully later on I can make more sense out of all this.
